Phyllis Charlesworth Krug

Phyllis Charlesworth Krug, 90, of Little Valley, NY passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2024. She was born on Aug. 28, 1933 in Napoli, NY, and was the daughter of the late John H. and Georgia (Morton) Charlesworth. She was married to Donald M. Krug, her high school sweetheart, for 54 years.

Phyllis graduated from Little Valley Central School in 1952. She went on to earn her undergraduate teaching degree from Albany State Teachers College in 1956.

She was later awarded her master’s degree from St. Bonaventure while also raising four young children and helping run the family dairy farm. In addition, she helped renovate and manage rental properties while also being Assessor for the town of Mansfield for many years. Phyllis was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother.

Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband Donald M. Krug, two brothers Howard Charlesworth, and John R. Charlesworth, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ruth and Walter Painter, Dick and Ann Krug, James Fellows, Raymond Ritter, Elsie Charlesworth, and her nephew Terry Spencer.

Phyllis is survived by her four children Joanne (Robert) Harris of Palm City, FL, Donald J. Krug of Cattaraugus, NY, Max (Galina) Krug of Jamestown, NY, and Elizabeth Rose of Northfield, IL. Also surviving are two sisters, Hazel Fellows of Little Valley, NY and Jane Ritter of Jamestown, NY; former daughter-in-law, Laurie Krug, of Little Valley, NY; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be 5 to 7pm on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024 at Mentley Funeral Home, 411 Rock City St., Little Valley, NY. A private family service will be held after which burial will take place at Little Valley Rural Cemetery.
