Martha Hautzinger

Martha B. Hautzinger, 91, formerly of Frewsburg, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born May 14, 1933 in Oil City, PA, a daughter of the late Theodore and Caroline Schiefer Bryan. After her mother’s death at a young age, she was raised by her grandparents, Mary and Harry Schiefer.

Martha was a 1951 graduate of Indiana High School.

For many years, she was employed by Frewsburg Central School as the school secretary at Robert H Jackson Elementary School, retiring in 1998. This was a job in which she truly enjoyed the students and her colleagues.

She was a longtime member of the former Frewsburg United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and served on several committees.

Martha loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren attending many of their school events.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Lloyd) Kibbe of Randolph; five grandchildren: Jonathan (Alexandria) Stamp, Leah (Ryan) Smolik, Maureen Kibbe, Patrick Kibbe, Michael Kibbe; and four great-grandchildren: Noah Stamp, Liam Stamp, Ethan Smolik, and Emma Smolik.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph N. Hautzinger whom passed away on February 22, 2020; an infant son Joseph Kevin Hautzinger; a daughter Amy Stamp; a brother Harry Bryan; and her grandparents, Mary and Harry Schiefer.

In keeping with Martha’s wishes no service or visitation will be observed.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
