Jon B. Belin, 71, of Jamestown passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, in UPMC Chautauqua.
A lifelong area resident he was born June 2, 1953 in Jamestown, the son of the late Bernard and Marie Josephine Sikes Belin.
Jon was a graduate of Falconer High School and Jamestown Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War.
In earlier years Jon was employed by Jamestown Plywood and prior to retirement was employed by Jamestown Board of Public Utilities.
He was a member of the Mensa International, NRA and life member of the Vietnam Veterans Association. Jon enjoyed fishing, watching the Buffalo Bills, and tinkering with mechanical projects.
Surviving is his wife Cathy A. Bostaph Belin whom he married June 15, 1992 in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church; two children Matthew (Jennifer) Belin of Falconer, Hillary Belin of Jamestown; two step-children Shari (David) Mower, Kelly (Thomas) Blake; two grandchildren Christopher Belin, Ashley (Shane) Higgs; three step-grandchildren Brittany Mower, Zachary Mower, Rylo Blake; several great-grandchildren, and two sisters Judith (James) Bergey of South Dayton, and Janice Textor of Sherman.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Karen Belin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Vietnam Veterans Club.
Memorials may be donated to the Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care or Chautauqua County Humane Society.
