Georgiann Sutherin

Georgiann was born April 19, 1936 and died January 19, 2024. The Celebration of Life will reflect on her 87 years as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The Celebration will take place between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. along the lake near her home at 25 W. Lake Street, Lakewood.

Raised in Negley, Ohio as Georgiann Gorby, “Sugar Pie” as she liked to be called, was not a native of Lakewood but she grew to love the area. Prior to moving to Lakewood, Georgiann graduated from East Palestine High School, attended Bowling Green State University, married Keith “Denny” Sutherin in 1960, bore her daughter Laurie, and worked for Kenmar (later Ethan Allen) as a programmer using those iconic IBM punch cards in her work.

Her grandchildren, Martha and Patrick Jr. (Pete) born to Laurie and her husband, Patrick Dittoe were bright lights in her life. She had great pride in their accomplishments.

Georgiann was a member of the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club and Lakewood Women’s Club. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, watching the birds, and Jane Derby Household Sales.
