C. Ralph Heeter

C. Ralph Heeter

C. Ralph Heeter, 81, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully Friday, August 2, 2024 at Gowanda Rehab and Skilled Nursing. He was born August 7, 1942 in Baltimore, MD to Orville R. and Anne Osen Heeter.

A US Army veteran, Ralph graduated from Jamestown High School in 1960 and attained his associate’s degree in California. His cardinal career was with Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale, CA, where he retired as an engineer. On the bookends of his working life, Ralph began with the local Jamestown Post-Journal as a paper boy; fondly, he returned, then in the photograph department, as his final job.

A family man best describes Ralph’s spirit. Assuredly, he was a wonderful husband for what would’ve been 52 years on August 12 to the love of his life, Carole, who just so happened to be older by one day. C. Ralph again took pride in his previously-quieted first name when he, as Carroll, married his beloved Carole. The only thing that made him prouder than being a father was being a loving and compassionate grandfather.

Ralph will be remembered through his stunning photography and art, as his talents knew no bounds. Golfing was a treasured hobby, as were his endless recounts of many rounds. He was a former member of the Vikings Ingjald Lodge 65; the AmericanLegion; the War Vets Recreation; and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.

An “all around good guy,” Ralph will be missed and treasured by his wife, Carole; his son, Steven (Heather) Heeter of California; his daughter, Kim (Doug) Martin of Maryland; grandchildren: Eugene, Juliana, Sarah, Kailey, and Raymond; great-grandchildren: Kerrigan, Freya, and Siobhan; and siblings: Ramon Heeter and Roger Heeter.

Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia DeVore and brothers, Ralph Alan and Richard, along with his very best friend, Barney Weldon.

In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, no visitation or services will be held, so as he was known to say, “ralphheeterrschene.”

To cherish his life, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
