Thomas A. Lang

Thomas A. Lang
Thomas A. “Tom” Lang, 68, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday July 13, 2024. A lifelong Jamestown resident, Tom was born September 27, 1955 to William and Norma Carlson Lang. From the very beginning, he was an extremely humble and quiet hero to the community.
Tom married Mary Beth Johnson Lang with whom they had two daughters, Ashley and Katie. Following Mary Beth’s early passing in 1997, Tom married Brenda Thomas Lang on October 1, 2007. Together, Tom and Brenda fostered a deeply profound relationship based on their like-minded spirituality and service-oriented hearts.
WCA was Tom’s, “home away from home” for 38 years, being the utmost, “go-to guy” throughout the ER and hospital. While his knowledge and experience as ER Technician paved the way for success, it was Tom’s gentle nature that, albeit modest, crafted him into recognition as a pillar of WCA. To know Tom was to love his interesting and interested soul, as he touched countless lives through his purist convictions.
A remarkable chef and grill master to his family and friends, Tom adored the outdoors; markedly, he found joy in canoeing, having campfires, and sitting under the oak tree with his wife Brenda. His sense of humor knew no bounds while his quality of being a purist allowed him to enjoy the simplest things in life. Tom was a phenomenal woodworker, forever enjoying the process of the craft with his close friend Dave.
Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, Brenda; daughters Ashley Piazza and Katie (Dan) Sampson; step-sons Ryan Lawson (Eden Snow) and Charles Lawson III; grandchildren Landen Piazza, Annaleis Piazza, Angelina Piazza, Easton Sampson, and Maddison Sampson; step-grandchildren Simon Lawson, Jamie Smith, Quinn Lawson, Ransom Lawson “Bean,” Sophia R. Lawson, and Milo C. Lawson; a sister Karen Smith (Harold); as well as his colleagues and many friends.
Tom’s soul has joined the presence of loved ones that left before him. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother John, his first wife Mary Beth, his nephew Josh, and his step-son Andy.
The funeral service for Tom will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and from 6-8pm Wednesday at Lind’s.
Tom’s family is endlessly grateful for the care given and received from hospice in his final days; thus, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W Fairmount Ave, Lakewood, NY 14750.
