Melissa L. Johnson, 46, formerly of 19 Mattison St., Frewsburg, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility with her family at her side. She was a resident of Heritage Park for the last two years while suffering from the effects of Alzheimer’s.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1978, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of Gary L. and Kathleen Johnson.
Melissa was a 1999 graduate of Frewsburg Central School. She was a compassionate kindhearted soul who always had a smile to share with everyone.
Melissa was employed as a dietary aide at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility for over 20 years. She was very dedicated to her work and took much pride in having her job.
She was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. In earlier years, she participated in Special Olympics bowling, basketball, and softball. She enjoyed her daily walks, listening to music, and writing in her daily journals. Attending the Ellington Town Picinic each summer was a highlight for her too.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Lois Wilhelm, and her paternal grandparents, Lloyd, Sr. and Mae Johnson.
Besides her parents, Melissa is survived by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her best buddy Juley Moshier.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Phil Roushy of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery at a later date.
Friends will be received by the family from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
