Lorna (Wachter) Colburn

Ellington, NY – Lorna (Wachter) Colburn, 93, formerly of Thornton Road, Ellington, passed away Thursday (July 25, 2024) at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Greenhurst.

She was born February 26, 1931, the daughter of the late William and Iola H. Case Wachter. She was the widow of the late Alfred Colburn.

In addition to being a Home Maker, she had also worked as a cook for several places in Jamestown, including, Hall Memorial Home, St. Agnus Home and the Salvation Army.

She enjoyed doing needlepoint, crossword puzzles and especially spending time with family.

She is survived by a son; Kevin Colburn and wife Jeanie of Ellington, 6 grandchildren; Lorraine (Frank) Turpin, Daron (Heather) Colburn, Andrew (Jennifer) Colburn, William (Kayla) Colburn, Kathleen (Aaron) Mueller and Joshua (Rachel) Hollenbeck, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Iola, husband Alfred, three sons; Alfred Jr, Brian Steven and Bruce Colburn and siblings, Merle and Bill Wachter Jr. and Mary Catherine Wachter.

She will be laid to rest in the Cherry Creek Central Cemetery next to Alfred at the convenience of the family. At Lorna’s request visitation will not be observed.
