Julia Ann “Julie” Johnson

She was born August 6, 1939 in Massillon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Minnie V. Raab Marsh, Jr.

Julie grew up in Washington, DC and was a graduate of George Washington University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Her adulthood was spent in Gaithersburg, MD and Fredericksburg, VA where she worked as a claims representative for GEICO Insurance.

Julie loved the Montgomery County Fair in Gaithersburg, MD. She entered many handmade items over the years and often won prizes for her crochet, needle point, cross stitch and embroidery. After moving to Virginia, she continued to return to Maryland every year for the week of the fair and volunteered so many hours that she received a lifetime membership to the Montgomery County Agricultural Center.

Surviving are two daughters: Pamela Johnson of Youngwood, PA, and Andrea Marie “Andy” Serkes (Constantine “Tino”) of Chester Springs, PA and their children, Josh, Nick and Ben; and a son, G. Edward Johnson of Bethesda, MD and his children, Calla and Mara.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22nd at Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
