Judith Kay Bensink

Judith Kay Bensink, of Clymer, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Corry Manor.

Judith was born on Nov. 6, 1940 in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of Lyle S. and Carol Neckers Compton.

After graduating Clymer Central School in 1958, Judith attended college at Hiram College, and Jamestown Community College before marrying her high school sweetheart Quentin in 1960. She worked as a Lab Technician at W.C.A. and Corry Memorial Hospital before retiring as a Lab Supervisor in 1995.

Judith was a longtime active member of Abbe Reformed Church in Clymer, where she taught Sunday school for many years and served on various church committees. She also hosted many Bible studies at her house.

In addition to her service to the church, Judith was very active in the community. She served and held multiple positions in a variety of organizations including Corry Memorial Hospital, Wee Care Christian Preschool, Hospice and Willow Brook Manor/Hall Memorial. She was also a long-time member of ACACIA #96 Eastern Star and The Marvin House.

Judith enjoyed reading, collecting teddy bears and all sorts of knickknacks, decorating for any occasion or holiday, and watching her beloved Cleveland Browns and Indians as well as the Buffalo Sabres. She took pride in her love for all animals, particularly dogs and was always supporting any cause that she found. She loved spending time with her family and friends and spoiling her grandchildren. Judith will be remembered as kindhearted, sweet natured and always pleasant to be around, but above all Judith had a heart for her Lord.

Judith is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Robert) Reinwald of Clymer; her son, Scott (Karen) Bensink of Findley Lake; seven grandchildren, Andrew and Danielle Reinwald, Christine (Matthew) DeStevens, Albert Bensink, Alex (Alyssa) Lictus, Dr. Andrea (Chad) Ball and Daniel (Katie) Lictus; six great-grandchildren, Elliana and Grayson Lictus, Brooks and Beckett Ball and Isla and Brom Lictus as well as lifelong friend Sue Rhebergen.

In addition to her parents and husband, Judith was preceded in death by her sister Marcia.

Calling hours will be held at the Abbe Reformed Church, 595 Clymer Sherman Road, Clymer, NY, Saturday July 20, 2024 from 10-11 am where a memorial service will follow at 11 am. An Eastern Star service will be held prior to the memorial service.
