Clarence E. Green

Clarence E. Green, 83, of Riga Road, Conewango Valley, Town of Leon, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at home.

He was born Aug. 26, 1940 in Cuba, NY, the son of the late Simeon Howe Green and Margaret Hammer Green.

Mr. Green retired from Carrier Coach in Gowanda, where he was a bus driver. In earlier years, he had worked for Metallic Ladder in Randolph, Blackstone in Jamestown and the former Gowanda Tannery.

He and his late wife Alice Marie, were members of the Cherry Creek Assembly of God Church where he served on the Building Committee.

Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time chasing and harassing his grandkids.

He is Survived by a daughter Judith Reimer of Conewango Valley, a son Larry Green of Cattaraugus, five grandchildren, Brent and Austin Green, JoAnna Jones and Rosa and Brittany Pfleuger, eight great-grandchildren, four siblings; Kenneth, Melvin and Leon Green and Diane Slocum.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Alice Marie (Allwood) Green, whom he married on Feb. 24, 1968 in Little Valley and who preceded him on Dec. 8, 2007; siblings, twins Melvin and Merle, Roy, Arthur, baby Green, Perry and Howard, Lena, Ellen, Mary Ann and Frances.

Family and friends will be received from 12 p.m. to the start of the service at 1 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024 in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. The Rev. W. Mike Trenchard will officiate Inurnment will follow in the South Napoli Cemetery.
