Betty Jean “Jeannie” Corcoran, 89, of Dunham Avenue, Jamestown, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Jeannie was born on August 6, 1934, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Edward L. and Agnes E. Anderson Veitz.
Jeannie had worked as a secretary at Blackstone Corporation and Jamestown Community College in the Physical Education Building.
Jeannie enjoyed spending time with her husband and family at Lakewood American Legion Post# 1286 and Lakewood Rod & Gun Club throughout the years. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and playing BINGO. Jeannie was an avid shopper. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, NV, England, Hawaii, Indianna and Cheektowaga, NY to visit family throughout the years. Jeannie looked forward to watching her shows on T.V. including The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.
In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence E. Corcoran, Jr.; her son: Stephen P. “Steve” Corcoran and her sister: Yvonne Pruett.
Jeannie is survived by her daughter: Sandy Corcoran (Angelo Rivera) of Jamestown, NY; her son: Larry (Donna) Poole of Terra Haute, IN; her grandchildren: Stephanie (Christopher) Miraglia and their sons: Alec Overfield and Kyle Miraglia all of Jamestown, NY, Stephen E. Corcoran of Las Vegas, NV, Cristy (Adrian) Stephens of Las Vegas, NV, Eric Poole, Brent (Michelle) Poole, Adam (Emily) Poole all of Indianna and Dusty (Taren) Poole of California; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters: Janet (Don) Scott of Jamestown, NY and Rev. Judith I. Veitz (Renee Gravelle) of Cheektowaga, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral on Tuesday, July 2nd from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 3rd from 10-11 a.m. Rev. Judith I. Veitz (sister) will officiate. The burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.
