Steven D. “Ole” Olson

Steven D. Olson, 72, of Sinclairville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday (June 4, 2024).

A lifelong area resident Steve was born March 17, 1952 in Jamestown, the son of the late Leo and Doris Peake Olson.

Steve was a 1970 graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1970 to 1974 in the U.S. Air Force in Turkey.

He owned and operated Olson Construction for 48 years and served on the Cassadaga Valley School Board for 15 years. Steve was a member of the South Stockton Wayside Chapel where he taught Sunday School. He was also a member of the David Vern Luce Post 778, American Legion.

Steve was a hardworking, honest, reliable Contractor and Master Carpenter who enjoyed his trade and working with customers and vendors. He had a strong Christian Faith and enjoyed

discussing, teaching, and learning about the Bible. Steve was a loving husband, father,

grandfather, brother, uncle and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending time on his farm, and in his workshop working on projects for friends and customers.

He was an avid reader having read several books a week and enjoyed cooking for his family and church family.

People found Steve to be endearing because of his quick wit, clever sense of humor and ability to tell an entertaining story.

Surviving is his wife Martha J. Tessier Olson whom he married June 7, 1981 in Park United Methodist Church, Sinclairville; a daughter Amanda Sendall of Gerry; a son Andrew Olson of Sinclairville; two grandchildren: Salena and Shelby Sendall and sister Sue (Bob) Masiker of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Doris Olson.

A Celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13 in the Falconer Funeral Home. David Robbins will officiate.

Friends will be received by the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
