“SNEEZE” James A. Chase II

“SNEEZE” James A. Chase II, 92, of 4761 Rt. 474, Ashville, died Thursday June 20, 2024, in his home.

He was born November 14, 1931, the son of the late James and Ruby Davenport Chase

He will be joining his wife, Lillian Grove Chase, who he was married to for 67 years.

Sneeze was a graduate of Otto Eldred High School. Following high school he joined the U.S. Air Force.

Before his retirement he worked for Blackstone Advanced Technologies in Jamestown.

Sneeze was a life-time member of the Post 1286 Lakewood American Legion and Lower Lake Area Men’s Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to Johnny Cash. He was a huge Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan. His favorite song was “Frog on a Log”.

Surviving are his three children James (Anne) Chase, of Mayville, Brenda Lowe of Ashville and Jeff (Cheryl) Chase of Sugar Grove; eight grandchildren Amber, Ashley, and Jordan Chase, Eric and Kevin Lowe, Amy and Tom Soble, and James F. Chase Jr. And ten great grandchildren and seven siblings.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by Three siblings, Two sons, One daughter and his best friend Bill Francis.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm July 13th at Lakewood Legion Post 1286 for Sneeze.
