Marcia M. (Gumienik) Zunner

Randolph, NY – Marcia M. (Gumienik) Zunner, passed away peacefully at UPMC Chautauqua (WCA) Hospital on June 3, 2024 after a brief illness.

Born in Jamestown, NY on December 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Edward Gumienik Sr. and Laura S. Chzanowski Gumienik.

Marcia graduated from Randolph Central School in 1963, where she was active in the chorus. She attended Jamestown Community college and later graduated from cosmetology school and worked at Fleet Bank in Randolph, First National Bank in Jamestown and the Randolph Manor.

Marcia was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, and a past chair of Altar & Rosary society as well as a lector and a teacher for kindergarten and first grade.

On May 29, 2001 Marcia was joined in marriage with her beloved husband Edward Bruce Zunner, who survives her. She is survived by her sister Leona Grey and preceded in death in 2009 by her brother Edward Gumienik Jr. She was a devoted aunt to her cherished nieces and nephews; Christine Strong, Edward Gumienik III, Heather Grey, Juliet Mullins and 3 grandnieces and nephews. She is also survived by step-children Kurt Edward (Kim) Zunner, Julia Sturdivant, Christopher Bruce Zunner, Mary Grace (Walter) Meade, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 189 Main Street, Randolph, followed by interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Watkins as Celebrant.
