Sam Vullo

Sam Vullo, 86, of Jamestown, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in UPMC Chautauqua with his family by his side.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1937 in Jamestown, a son of the late Sam and Sara Pintagro Vullo.

Sam was a 1956 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the US Army Reserves.

Retiring in 1995, he was employed at MRC/SKF for 38 years.

He was a member of Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, Celoron Moose, and the War Vets.

Sam was a skilled woodworker who could craft anything – from something as simple as a photo frame to an elaborate piece of furniture. Over the years, he generously created many cherished items for family and friends. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and would often spend many hours out there working on his latest project.

He was also an avid lover of all animals, and would take care of and feed the neighborhood strays every day. He also enjoyed watching the birds and tending to his many bird feeders.

Sam was always willing to help anyone at any time, and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Bratt Vullo, whom he married June 22, 1991; three children: Valerie (Kevin) Ransom, Sam (Michelle) Vullo, Kathleen Calimeri; four step-daughters, Wendy (Emory) Heitman, Karen (Neil Carlson) Zickgraf, Dawn (Pete) Scarsone, Julie (John) Giacomelli; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one soon to be born great-great-grandson; three nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Alfred Vullo, a sister Virginia Adleman, and a niece Charlene.

A celebration of life will be held from 12-3 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, 9 E. Chadakoin Parkway, Celoron, NY 14720. All are welcome.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests memorials be made to Pick of the Litter in Falconer, Chautauqua County Humane Society in Jamestown, or any animal organization honoring Sam’s love of animals.
