Ruth A. Fritton

Ruth A. Fritton, 80, of Connect 55 in Lakewood, formerly of Frewsburg passed away Tuesday (May 28, 2024) in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong area resident she was born April 22, 1944 in the former WCA Hospital in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Forrest and Alice Haus Filegar.

Ruth was a graduate of the former Bemus Point High School and Jamestown Community College. In earlier years Ruth was employed by the Lutheran Home and prior to retirement by Randolph Childrens Home as a bookkeeper.

She enjoyed quilting, knitting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Ruth was a member of Kiantone Congregational Church.

She is survived by her beloved grandsons: Andrew (Daniele) Ellis of Frewsburg, Scott (Maggie) Roberts of Jamestown; a great grandson Stetson Ellis, her sister-in-law Kay Filegar and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband David P. Fritton and beloved daughter Kimberly Roberts, son-in-law Thomas Roberts; brothers: Robert, Richard and Donald Filegar and sister-in-law’s Diane Filegar and Sharon Filegar.

The family would like to thank the Connect 55 residents who helped look after Ruth and take her to doctor’s appointments.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Kiantone Congregational Church.
