Richard L. “Dick” Snow

Richard L. “Dick” Snow, 92, of Randolph NY, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at ECMC, Buffalo, NY.

He was born May 18, 1931, in Sinclairville, NY, a son of the late Austin B. and Clair Birdsey Snow.

Dick was a 1950 Graduate of Little Valley Central School.

He was the highway superintendent for the Town of Napoli for many years, retiring in 1988 and then went into dairy farming with his daughter and son-in-law at Coldspring Dairy, retiring in 1992. He went on to raise crops and heifers until 2012.

Dick was a lifelong farmer and was active in 4H and the FFA, organizing many trail rides and was a member of the Little Valley Lions Club.

He loved his family and friends and had a love for animals, especially horses and cattle. He loved the woods, making maple syrup and operating his tractor.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, JoAnn Campbell Snow; a daughter-in-law Rhonda (Roger) Snow of Little Valley; a son Arthur Snow of Little Valley; a daughter Randi (Robert) Backus of Randolph: Five grandchildren: Nicole (Dan) Johnson, Adam Snow, Audrey Snow, Kristin Backus, Jason Backus; seventeen great-grandchildren: Makayla Pecora, Roger Mack, Devin Johnson, Riley Johnson, Shayla Johnson, Leland Snow, Caleb Snow, Zaidyn Greene, Avrey Snow, Gaige Osgood, Onalee Osgood, Charlie Backus, Laura Knight, Hayden Backus, Joshua Bridgeman, Katelin Bridgeman, Joseph Bridgeman: Three great-great-grandchildren: Oliver Snow, Aadrian Knight, Aaron Amari Knight; and Christy Oaks, who is a close family member.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Roger L. Snow and five brothers.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
