Judy Congdon Bernhardt

Judy Congdon Bernhardt, age 74, passed away on Saturday April 20, 2024 at home in Gulfport MS.

She is survived by her husband Dan, daughter Nicole, son Todd (Nancy), grandchildren Eric, Tyler, Alex, Elizibeth, sisters Janet (Tim) Fagerstrom and Robin (Fred) Meacham, brother in-law Terry, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her mother and father Florence and Robert Congdon, and her mother-in- law and father-in-law Nancy and Roy Bernhardt.

Judy was born in Jamestown NY and was a graduate of Jamestown High School, class of 1968.

Judy married her high school sweetheart in 1969 and enjoyed 54 years of marriage living life to the fullest. Nothing was more important to Judy than family and friends.

She had a passion for music, animals, history and enjoyed travelling. Her beautiful voice would often be heard singing her favorite show tunes. Her caring and compassionate nature enabled her to have a strong connection with animals. She loved working with horses as a volunteer and had three horses of her own at her home in Bloomfield NY. Judy shared her lifelong knowledge of history and the Civil War as a volunteer at Beauvoir, in Biloxi MS. Some of her favorite spots for travel were St. Kitts, Dominican Republic, Kiawah Island and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Judy will be remembered for her strength, determination, and loving devotion to her family and friends. She battled Multiple Sclerosis for more than 40 years with a resiliency that is an inspiration to all who knew her.

A combined funeral service and celebration of life for Judy and her late mother-in-law, Nancy LaBarbera Bernhardt will be held at 1 pm on Friday, May 3, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home.

Interment for both Judy and Nancy will be in Lake View Cemetery following the services.

Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service, from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeralhome Saturday.
