James M. “Jim” Bigelow

James M. “Jim” Bigelow, 73, of Gerry, NY passed away at home on Thursday, (March 28, 2024). He was born January 20, 1951, in London, ON, to Clarence and Catherine (McQuaid) Bigelow.

Jim attended Arch Bishop Walsh and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He later attended trade schools and worked as a mechanic at Alcoa in Randolph, NY. Later in life, Jim attended Jamestown Community College and obtained his Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology and worked as a Journeyman Electrician, in the Local 106, until he retired.

He is survived by his children Christina (James) Horn of Cyprus, Bryan (Alice) Bigelow of Jamestown, Kelly (Allan) Hawkins of Sinclairville, and Jeremy Davis of Gerry; seven grandchildren; Kian and Kaeden Horn, Hanna and Matthew Bigelow and Kole, Brody and Sydney Hawkins. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Overington and Karen (David) Grossman as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother in 1985, his father in 1988; his brothers Ralph, Kenneth and Wayne Bigelow and just recently, his wife Roxanne Bigelow.

A viewing will be held at Falconer Funeral Home, from 3-6 pm on Thursday, (April 4, 2024).
