Susan Simon

Born on July 19, 1950, in Jamestown, Susan was the daughter of the late Charles and Alberta Emke Brooks. She graduated from Randolph Central School and dedicated several years of her life to working at WCA Hospital as a unit clerk, and later as the manager of Fountain Bowl in Jamestown.

Susan found joy in the company of her family. Susan absolutely loved hugs, she had to hug you when you arrived and when you left. Sundays often found her hosting dinners for her sons and their families. She cherished her trips to Ocean City, Maryland, where she indulged in her love for ocean fishing. Susan enjoyed listening to music and followed the local band, “The Jays.” Her enduring companionship with her beloved cat, Douglas Fir, brought her comfort and joy for many years.

Despite facing physical challenges following surgery, Susan exhibited remarkable strength and resilience, eventually regaining her ability to walk.

Susan is survived by her sons, Christopher (Bobbie) Simon and Nicholas (Ashley) Simon; grandchildren Bryce, Brianna, Mason, and Skyler Simon; siblings Charles Brooks (Sheila Allen), Dawn (Bill) Wendell, Andrew (Ruth) Brooks, Ronald (Mary) Brooks, and Randall (Juanita) Brooks; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alberta Brooks.

Honoring Susan’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
