Rev. Robert D. “Bob” Lewis, 80, of Frewsburg passed away Friday (February 2, 2024) in his home.

He was born February 27, 1943 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late Jeremiah R. and Ora Lee Dennison Lewis.

Bob was a graduate of Tyner High School, Chattanooga, TN. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1961 to 1993 earning the rank of Master Sargent. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and Southeastern Seminary earning a doctorate in Theology. He served as Pastor at First Baptist Church in Falconer from 2007 to 2013. While serving as pastor Bob enjoyed sharing the gospel with various Bible study groups.

He was a member of the Sylvan Lodge 303, Scottish Rite, Mt. Sinai Mecca Chapter 132, Order of Eastern Star, where he served as Patron several times. He was also the first male Chaplain of the Grand Chapter of the Eastern Star. Bob was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America serving as State Chaplain for several years. He was a founding member and Past-President of the David L. Woodburn Chapter 978 in Frewsburg, NY. He also was a past member of the Town of Carroll Senior Citizens.

Bob loved to travel to gospel music concerts in Pennsylvania and Ohio and travel on bus trips around the country to visit new and interesting areas where he had never been before. Many new friends were made through these trips. He was always ready to speak to any organization or group of people given a half hour notice.

Surviving is his wife Linda R. Woodburn Lewis whom he married May 18, 2001 in Vernon, CT; a son David L. Lewis and his wife Jane; and two daughters: Sheila Smith and Sheri Lowe. He also had several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Annise Lewis.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Clark’s Corners Community Church, One Gospel Lane, Kennedy, NY. Rev. Richard Johnson pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.

Friends will be received by the family from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. An Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be donated to Clark’s Corners Community Church or Chautauqua Hospice andPalliative Care.
