Jerome K. Crandall

Jerome K. Crandall

Jerome K Crandall, a cherished family man and respected member of the Cassadaga community, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, at the age of 85.

Born in Dunkirk on December 8, 1938, to his late parents Richard G and Rose R. (Richardson) Crandall, Jerome spent his entire life in the town he loved.

After serving with distinction in the United States Army and being stationed in Germany, Jerome returned to Cassadaga, where he embraced his calling as a truck driver. He eventually retired from Agway, only to channel his industrious spirit into starting his own successful lawn mower repair service, Crandall’s Mower Repair. His professional endeavors only hinted at the depth of his dedication both to hard work and to the community that he held dear.

Jerome will be fondly remembered for his infectious love of the outdoors. He relished every opportunity to hunt and fish, finding solace in the tranquility of nature. His greatest joy, however, was the time he spent with his grandchildren at the farm, playing and imbuing in them the same appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Sandra M (Crumb) Crandall, and a legacy carried on by his children, Tammy (Tom) Forte of Florida, and Dianna (Chris) Crummett of Virginia. Jerome’s joyous spirit lives on through his grandchildren, Caitlyn (Brian) Parrish, Nicole Forte, Joseph Forte, and Cassie Crummett, and his great-grandchildren Hailey, Lucas, and Susie. Despite the sorrow of his passing, the rich love of his family, which includes a nephews, nieces, cousins and many loving friends, reflects the love and life he so generously shared.

Predeceased not only by his parents but also by his sisters, Wanda J. Crandall, Sandra E Crandall, and an infant brother, Jerome now reunites with them in eternal peace. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him as a testament to a life well-lived, a life filled with love, laughter, and the cherished moments that define our existence. Jerome K Crandall will be dearly missed, yet forever remembered as a pillar of his family and his community.
