Jeannette L. Perry, 90, formerly of Bassett St., Jamestown passed away Friday (February 16, 2024) in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
She was born January 26, 1934 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Harold R. and Eva Hayes Bull Sr.
Jeannette was a 1953 graduate of Sugar Grove High School. In earlier years she was an active PTA member for CC Ring Elementary, Washington Junior High School (life member) and Jamestown High School. She had served as President of Jamestown City Council PTA.
Jeannette will be a remembered as a dedicated housewife, caregiver to many children and foster children, always ready to help someone in need including family.
Jeannette was also a member of the former Buffalo St. United Methodist Church for 45 years and served as a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, and member of the churches choir for 25 years. She had served on various church boards until Buffalo St. joined with New Beginnings Fellowship.
Surviving is her husband James R. Perry whom she married January 21, 1956 in Jamestown; two daughters: Melania L. Brooks of Spotsylvania, VA, Dennett Carpenter of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Michael K. (Jennifer) Brooks, Marie Carpenter Johnston (Steve), Melissa Carpenter Colburn (Jesse); five great grandchildren: Lillian Brooks, Tessa Brooks, Zander Colburn, Samuel Johston, Nicholas Johnston; two step great grandchildren: Olivia Booth and Jacob Booth; three nieces: Jeanne Johnson, Judi Eaton, Katharine Vezine; many great nieces and nephews
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Harold R. Bull Jr. and a grandson Conner Brooks, two nephews Michael and Mark Bull.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family one hour prior (1p.m. to 2 p.m.) to the funeral service Thursday in the funeral home.
