James A. “Jim” Marzullo

James A. “Jim” Marzullo of Silver Creek, NY entered into rest February 16, 2024, after a long and arduous battle with cancer.

Jim graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in 1964 and was inducted into the US Army in 1967. He served in Vietnam from Oct 1968 to Oct 1969 and served in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), (“Screaming Eagles”). He earned the “Air Medal” and “Bronze Star” for his bravery and participation in the Battle of “Hamburger Hill” and honorably discharged in 1973. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1975.

Jim led an adventurous life and enjoyed traveling. He was Coordinator for Circus Vargus in the US and Canada, worked in the entertainment industry in Hollywood and had a love of the arts and photography.

His travels found him back to his roots in Silver Creek, NY to care for his aging parents. He had a thirst for learning and worked at The Village Green and Border’s Book Stores in Buffalo. He served on the board of the No. Chautauqua Rifle and Pistol Club. Jim volunteered as a docent at the Buffalo Naval and Military Park and most recently Caretaker of the USS Croaker Submarine.

Jim is survived by his loving partner of many years Shirley Aprile and her children, Evan and Jeanette. He is also survived by his sister Rachel Estee and her children Janet, Julie and Beth (John) Schunk; his late sister Carolyn Vicario’s children, James (Sonia), Tracy (Greg Timmel) and Jack; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jim was predeceased by his parents James and Rose (nee Tedesco) Marzullo and his sister Carolyn (Joseph) Vicario.

Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd. near Lake Ave., on Friday, March 1st from 3-7pm. An Honor Guard Memorial will take place on Saturday, March 2nd at 10am.
