Jeffrey Paul Luce

Steamburg- Jeffrey Paul Luce, 64, of West Perimeter Road, Town of Coldspring, passed away at home Tuesday (January 2, 2024) after an extended illness.

He was born October 18, 1959 in Jamestown, the son of the late Paul E. and Gertrude (Dorenkemper) Luce.

Jeff was a graduate of Southwestern Central School and was a member the Seneca Nation of Indians Snipe Clan and Longhouse. He was the owner-operator of the former Climbing Bear Construction Company in Salamanca and worked with the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory with the Construction of the building of the Seneca Allegany Casino.

He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and above anything else, the pride and joy he had for his children. He was also very generous to the friends that were important to him. He loved hunting and being outdoors and hand crafting Snow Snake poles for use in Seneca Winter Games. He also enjoyed playing pool with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; Darlene E. (Johnson) Luce, four daughters, Amber Luce and Erica Fisher of Franklinville, Ashley Luce of Columbus, OH, and Jessica Amato of Coudersport, Pa. a step daughter, Julia Duffy of Atlanta, two sons, Paul Luce of Brockport, NY and Kyle Dewyer of Salamanca, three stepsons, Brian Dowell and David Dowell of Coudersport, Pa. and Jason Reynolds of Virginia, 7 grandchildren, Bella, Jane, Avery, Maddox, Atlas, Christian and Auriella and a sister; Barbara Sandstrom of Albion, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Gertrude, step mother; Nancy (Wiltsy) Luce and a brother Mike Luce.

The family will be present to receive family and friends on Thursday (January 4, 2024) after Noon and all day Friday at the Coldspring Longhouse, Center Road, Steamburg. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 6, 1924) from the Coldspring Longhouse. Burial will follow in the Myrtle Cemetery, Clark’s Corners, Kennedy, NY 14747.
