Carl H. Sandwall

BEMUS POINT-. Carl H. Sandwall, 78, of Bemus Point, NY, passed away on January 12, 2024, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown, NY. He was born April 13, 1945, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Roy and Bertha McIntyre Sandwall.

Carl was a lifelong resident of Bemus Point, NY. He was a 1965 graduate of Bemus Point High School. He retired from Jamestown Metal Works. Carl volunteered for the Maple Springs Fire/Rescue Department for over 45 years and took great pride in his work for the fire and rescue squad. He had a joyful and optimistic nature and a true heart of gold. Carl enjoyed tending to the family farm which brought his love of vintage tractors, especially anything John Deere. He enjoyed attending antique tractor shows and tractor pulls. He took pleasure in coffee with friends at the Ellery Country Cow and the Village Restaurant in Dewittville.

He is survived by his beloved youngest niece and carer, Teresa (Jeff) Adams, his favorite "Mr. Fixit", step-nephew, Michael (Dawn) Schnell, his brother Jerald (Martha) Sandwall of Germany, nieces Debra, Sue, Roxanne, Rebecca and nephews Steven, Andy and Tim and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley and a brother James.

A private service will be held at the family's convenience. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Maple Springs Fire/Rescue Department, PO Box 100, Bemus Point, NY 14712
