Randy M. "Rubs" Smith, Sr., 71, of Jamestown passed away Thursday (December 14, 2023) at UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born on June 26, 1952 in Jamestown, the son of the late Gaylord M. and Twila Minetti Smith.
He attended Jamestown High School and was later employed by Malleable Iron Company, Proto Tool, and Lexington Die Cast. Prior to retirement in 2014, he was employed by Power Drives.
Rubs had a love for motorcycling and was a member of the Kingsman Motorcycle Club where he served as President. He was currently a member of the Midnight Brotherhood Club since 1973. When he was not riding his Harley Davidson, Rubs enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with his family, playing in various pool leagues, and watching his favorite teams, the Bills, Sabres, and Yankees. Rubs enjoyed spending time and watching television with his German Shepard Ozzy.
Surviving are three sons: Randy M. Smith, Jr. and Nation N. Hilliman, both of Jamestown, Scott (Stephanie) Sampsel of Massillon, OH; two grandchildren: Ireland Smith of SC, Aidan Smith of Jamestown; one great grandchild: Jalen Elmore, Jr. of SC; two sisters: Jackie (Richard) Lawrence of Kennedy, Jonell Johnson of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Rubs was preceded in death by a brother: Gaylord M. "Butch" Smith; a niece: Louann Ream; and a nephew: David Johnson, Jr.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Lata will officiate. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
