Yvonne Charlotte (Hasper) Pillsbury
It is with love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Yvonne Charlotte (Hasper) Pillsbury, on November 18, 2023.
Yvonne, born August 19, 1944, in Dunkirk, NY, was happiest when she was doing kind things for others, not only family and friends, but those in need of food, clothing and prayers.
She was best known for her compassionate spirit and unconditional love. She will live on with her two children and three granddaughters, whom she thought of constantly. She always found small yet big ways to make them all feel loved and valued.
Yvonne is survived by her loving children, Maria Kammetler (Bill) and Russell Andrew Pillsbury (Gina), former daughter-in-law, Kathie Bermel, former husband, Russell C. Pillsbury, and her cherished granddaughters, Rhiannon Rose Pillsbury, Kylie Ann Pillsbury, and Julia Lynn Kammetler.
Yvonne was predeceased by her father, Charles Augustus Hasper, her mother, Winifred Agnes Etta Morrison Hasper, her aunt, Thelma Georgia Panek, her uncle, Stanley Panek, her grandmother, Charlotte “Lottie” Fee Hasper, and her grandfather, Lewis A Hasper.
As a graduate of Falconer High School, NY in 1962, Yvonne went on to attend business college classes and had excellent writing skills. She was extremely active in her children’s lives and taught Sunday School for them at the Busti Federated Church, New York for many years. She was also a Girl Scouts Troop Leader for Maria and a Cub Scout Den Mother for Russell.
Yvonne dedicated her time and energy to causes close to her heart, such as combating hunger, loneliness, and homelessness. Yvonne was a lover of nature and the outdoors, enjoying recreational activities such as fishing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved being with family and friends, entertaining and cooking for gatherings. Yvonne also loved to read and was a devout letter writer. She found solace in reading The Bible, listening to The Word FM and watching sunsets every evening she could. She had a very special place in her heart for all the children at Taunton Forge Elementary School, Medford, NJ she worked at as a cashier and cook, especially those in need of attention. Known for her thoughtful, sweet, and caring personality, Yvonne taught us how to put others before ourselves. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her children and contributing to the upbringing of her granddaughters with a generous heart and plenty of creativity, laughter, and free-spirited playtime.
A memorial service to celebrate Yvonne’s life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 11 A. M., at The Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Palmer Twp., Pa. The calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a procession to the Northampton Memorial Shrine.
As we remember Yvonne, we hold onto the many kind and loving memories she left behind. Despite the sadness that accompanies her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her loving spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Yvonne will always be deeply missed and cherished in our hearts.
