Patricia A. “Pat” Hand

She was born on December 20, 1942, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late James Thomas and Dorothy I. Johnson Laughlin.

Pat attended Jamestown High School.

Before retirement, she was employed at Satellite Bowl for 20 years. She had also worked at the Frewsburg American Legion and the Frewsburg Rest Home.

Pat was a member of the Frewsburg American Legion and enjoyed picnics and family gatherings.

She is survived by her three daughters: Jody (Dale) Shely of San Angelo, TX, Julie (Todd) Fuller of Little Valley, Jeanne (Michael) Thierfeldt of Kennedy; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Fuller, Ethan Fuller, Ashley (Brent) Thierfeldt, Alyssa (Matt Whipple) Fuller, Emily (late Jason) Decker, Lindsey (Jared) Aiken, Jacob Thierfeldt; six great-grandchildren; a sister Mary (Ben) Lewis; and two nieces Jill Fred and Melinda Crabtree.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bob Hand; former husband Gerald “Butch” Carter; son Jeff Carter; grandson Matthew Thierfeldt; and brother Jim Laughlin.

Pat’s family would like to thank her aide and caregiver, Robin Starweather Shely, for the loving and compassionate care she gave Pat the last year.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, December 19th in the funeral home.
