Helen L. Gustafson

She was born on October 15, 1935 in the town of Poland, NY. The daughter of the late Erwin and Eva Littlefield Springer.

She attended Frewsburg schools and married Otto Gustafson on January 26, 1952 in Frewsburg, NY. She resided in the Jamestown vicinity all of her life until retirement. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a great great grandmother. She worked as a cook at the former Jamestown General Hospital and Manor Oak until retiring in 1990. After retirement she moved to Okechobee, FL. and later moved back to Jamestown in 2015.

Helen loved hosting family gatherings and cooking for the ones she loved. She enjoyed watching

football, soap operas, and spending time with her beloved dog, Rosie.

Surviving are three children: Dawn Gustafson, Judy Darling, Donald Gustafson all of Jamestown; four grandchildren: Randi Thomas of Jamestown, Stacey Ryan of MO, Jessica Solinger of Jamestown, Steven “Fred” Solinger of Jamestown; six great- grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Otto Gustafson whom passed away May 17, 2015; two brothers: Earl and Herman Springer; and a son in law Ronnie Darling.

Per Helen’s request, visitation and funeral services will not be observed.
