On September 28, 2023, this world lost a great man.
Donald M. Gustafson passed away at the age of 82 surrounded by many loved ones.
He was born in Jamestown to the late Astrid and Helge Gustafson and was the older brother to his sister Sandra Scarry.
He was a 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Community College.
Before retirement, he was employed at Jamestown Pipe & Supply for many years.
Donald married and spent 62 years with the love of his life, Janet. He put no limitations on his beloved wife. Donald and Janet had two daughters, Julie (James) Allison and Laura (Jerry) Gray of which he couldn't be more proud.
There's nothing that brought more joy, funny faces, and silly songs to him than his grandchildren Jessica (Joseph) Muratore, James Allison III, Jennifer (Elliott) Cave, Jacob (Nicki) Gray, and Sarah (Scott) Breese and great grandchildren, Annabelle Allison, Madelynn Allison, Jameson Cave, and Briella Muratore. He would do anything for them, except let them win.
His competitive spirit ran deep. As an excellent billiards player, many aspired to learn from him. Between running the table and his trick shots, all were amazed to watch him play. In addition, he was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, just don't talk to him if they didn't win. Go Bills!
Donald was an amazing family man and loved by all. He'll be missed by his brother-in-law Kenneth (Linda) Burkey and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother-in-law Don (Greta) Burkey and John Scarry.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Pastor PJ Pasieka will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
Friends will be received from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Tuesday (two hours prior to the service) in the funeral home.
