Christine Diane Carlson-Colomb
Christine Diane Carlson-Colomb
Carlson-Colomb, 55, of Niles, formerly of the DC area, passed away at her home on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Born in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of David S. and the late Jacqueline L. (Richard) Carlson, she had retired as a special agent for the Department of Homeland Security in 2022. She specialized in the dogged pursuit of criminals and rescuing children who were victims of child exploitation and trafficking.
To family, she was known as “Cookie”, and, fittingly, she spent many years as a Girl Scout ‘Cookie Mom’. She loved life and encouraged her children to make good choices in life and to use their ‘smactical particles’.
Surviving, in addition to her father, David, are her husband of 26 years, James M. “Jamie” Colomb; children, Rylee Colomb and Mac Colomb; siblings, Curtis (Corky) Carlson, Carrie (Pat) Finnerty and Corey (Lori) Carlson; mother-in-law, Lynda Colomb; sisters-in law, Maryellen (Aaron) Dodge and Betsy (Corey) Peterson and several nieces and nephews.
A Life Celebration will be Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 5 pm at American Legion Robert J. Hydon Post 239, 3808 Jordan Road, Skaneateles, NY.
Donations, in her memory, may be made to Jordan Detection K9, 11850 Brookville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46239, http://www.electronicdetectionk9.com, or Operation Underground Railroad, https://ourrescue.org/give-now, POB 560902, Denver, CO 802560902 or National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, https://give.missingkids.org/give/82059/#!/donation/checkout, Attn: Development, 333 John Carlyle Street, Suite 125, Alexandria, VA 22314.
