Raylan N. Barr, 4, of Jamestown, New York, passed unexpectedly into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Oishei Children's Hospital.
He was born in East Otto, New York on August 24, 2019, the son of Jeffrey Barr, Jr., and Nicole Gilbert Barr.
Raylan's jubilant personality earned him the beloved nickname of "Sweet Face" to those who knew him best. His elation for life spread positivity to all who met him. He found joy in finding big tomatoes from the garden and playing with the bugs he found along the way. He loved to swim and camp with his family. Fishing with daddy and papa was at the top on his favorite list. Raylan especially loved being daddy's helper while mowing the lawn. As his mama's big boy, he could not start the school day without blowing her kisses through the window. Whatever Raylan did, his excitement level ran at a steady ten!
Surviving are his parents, Jeffrey and Nicole Barr and four siblings: Jaxson Wilson, Kendall Wilson, Cooper Wilson, and Jeffrey Barr, III; grandparents, Jeffrey and Pam Barr of Celeron, Todd (Laura) Gilbert of Lakewood, and Diane Provorse of Warren, Pennsylvania; and great grandparents, Ken and Louise Soeder of Ashville. Also surviving are aunts and uncles: Amber and Brittni Barr, Sandy and Steve Arndt, Bonnie Curcio, Ryan and Katie Curcio, Michaele Marsh, and Jillian Gilbert; and many cousins who loved him.
Friends will be received at Falconer Funeral Home on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A celebration of life will begin at 5 p.m. with the Reverends Danika and Scott Smith officiating. Busti Church of God will receive friends and family for a dinner following the services.
Although Raylan's adventure on earth ended too soon, his journey lives on as an organ donor. Raylan's final gift saved five lives, earning him hero status to perfect strangers. In the eyes of his family, Raylan was a true Ray of Sunshine in every way and will forever shine down as their super hero.
