Susan J. McKillip

Susan was born on November 28, 1949, the oldest daughter of the late Leon and Delores Ringer VanOrd in Jamestown, N.Y.

Susan graduated from high school in 1967. She would go on to receive a degree from JBC in business. Her love for children inspired her years later to obtain a degree in early childhood education.

Susan was employed by The Resource Center for 18 years until her retirement. She was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church, until she became ill with COVID in 2021.

She could be found every Sunday afternoon yelling and cheering on her Buffalo Bills! She had a room in her home that she would tell everyone she dedicated to the Kings, the Lord and Elvis, both of whom she absolutely loved and adored.

Susan will always be remembered for her kind, caring heart as well as her genuine love for everyone she encountered. She never wanted to see anyone go without, she did her best to help no matter what. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving is her husband, Donald E. McKillip; four children: Laura Smith, Scott Cooper (Leah), Joseph Glover (Miranda), and Amanda Leverenz; stepdaughter, Debbie Breneman (Kevin); 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Priscilla Milliman (Harry), Sherry Prittie (Keith), Ed VanOrd (Shirley), and Jackie VanOrd (Joe).

Friends will be received from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held immediately following visitation at the Allen Cemetery, led by the Rev. Gerald Haglund. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Bemus Point United Methodist Church upon the conclusion of the service.
