Ronald L. Simpson, 83, of Jamestown passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Westfield Memorial Hospital.
Ron was born in Jamestown on March 12, 1940, the son of the late Frank E. and Rebecca Johnson Simpson.
Ron served in the US Navy from 1960 to 1962. Following his service, he completed his accounting degree and worked as an accountant in Cleveland, OH and Newark, NY before returning to Jamestown to join his father in the family business, 4-In-One Screwdriver, Inc. Following his father's passing, he continued to own the business until its closing in 1996.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and later, St. Timothy Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He belonged to the Lions Club, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, and the Norden Club, and in former years enjoyed skiing and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara O'Neill Simpson whom he married July 6, 1963; a daughter, Erica Simpson of Ashville; sister, Judy Anderson of Jamestown; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gary Simpson; and a sister, Nancy Anderson.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Ivy Gauvin will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. To leave a condolence, please visit www.lindfuneralhome.com.
