Brian Daniel Szoszorek “B, Dad, Papa”

Brian D. Szoszorek, 52, formerly of Erie, PA, now residing with his loving wife in the town of Ellicott, NY for the last 7 ¢ years, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at UPMC Chautauqua after a very brave battle with cancer.

He graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in 1988. He was an avid football player while enrolled there. He then went to receive his Bachelor’s degree in psychology at Edinboro University in 1992. He was a Race Announcer at Lakeshore BMX Bike Track in Erie, PA for years while his son competed. He had a wonderful deep radio voice and quick sense of humor making up nicknames that the kids loved. Brian could figure out just about anything and was always up for an adventure. He was genuine, hilarious, and he had endless knowledge of music and random facts, with so many stories he could go on forever. He had amazing cooking skills and loved cooking for his family and friends. Before his early retirement, he worked for Schwan’s Home Delivery.

He will be dearly missed by his wife whom he adored, Amy B. (Matteson) Szoszorek and their pets. He was so proud and loved his kids beyond words: Jake (Kimmi) Szoszorek of Edinboro, PA; Elizabeth (Tyler) Floyd of Baldwyn, MS; and Ashley Newman (Ethan Russell) of Jamestown, NY. Five grandkids he loved more than anything: Isabella Szoszorek, Keelin Floyd, Oliver Szoszorek, Evelynn Szoszorek, and Emsley Floyd; his parents: Joseph and Lacretia Szoszorek; a sister Carrie Vargo; and a nephew Nick Vargo of Erie, PA; and extended family in PA and TX.

Public visitation or burial will not be observed. The family will have a private celebration of life luncheon for family and friends at the Falconer United Methodist Church on July 30 at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers or if you’d like to donate in his honor, please donate to Chautauqua County Humane Society, as he loved all of his pets over the years.
