Stanley Sands, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and cherished member of the LGBTQ community, has taken his final flight on May 26, 2023.
Born on October 29, 1946, to parents Leroy and Helen Sands, Stanley lived a life filled with love, compassion, and adventure.
Stanley is survived by his two children, Jeremy Sands (52) and Stacey Sands Wolford (49). He was a devoted and dedicated father, always there to offer guidance, support, and unconditional love. His children will forever cherish the memories they shared, the life lessons he imparted, and the strong bond they built together. Stanley’s love will continue to live on through them. Stanley is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his children, Stanley is also survived by his two sisters, Carol Johnson and Trisha Jones, who were not only family but also his closest confidantes and lifelong friends. Their bond was filled with laughter, shared stories, and an unwavering support system.
For over 50 years, Stanley pursued his passion of flying as an instructor, and corporate pilot, soaring through the skies with grace and precision. He possessed an unwavering love for aviation and found solace among the clouds. His commitment to his craft was evident in his impeccable flying skills and the countless lives he touched through his professionalism and expertise.
Beyond his professional achievements, Stanley had a great love for parrots. He found joy and companionship in these colorful creatures, filling his home with their vibrant energy. Whether it was their mesmerizing color or their playful personalities, Stanley found solace in their presence.
Stanley Sands will be remembered as a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. His warm smile, kind heart, and genuine concern for others endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we say our final goodbyes, let us take comfort in the knowledge that Stanley’s spirit will forever live on in our hearts. May his soul find peace and soar among the clouds, and may his memory be a source of comfort and strength for all who loved him. A celebration of life for Stanley will be held at The American Legion Post 0638 Falconer, NY July 15th from 1pm to 3pm.
