Jack Daniel Moberg was born in Jamestown, New York to Gust and Thea Moberg on January 31, 1931.
Jack graduated from Jamestown High School in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served until 1954 when he received an honorable discharge. During his service to our nation, Jack was stationed in Savannah, Georgia.
While stationed in Savannah, Jack married Joan Moberg, also a 1948 Jamestown graduate. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Kathy, Sherry and Bob. Jack was preceded in death by Joan in September 1981. Then on September 4, 1982, Jack married Nancy Currie in Jamestown. Nancy's six children: Scott, Randy, Dan, Wendy, David, and Steven became a part of Jack's life and family. Nancy was called home to heaven on October 14, 2013. Jack then returned to Florida and the community he had lived in before, Country Meadows.
Jack started his working career at Falconer Metal Specialties before switching to Cornwell Tools. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where he served as congregation president. He was an avid athlete, playing softball, bowling and flag football. Jack started the first flag football league in Jamestown. He was named "Mr Georgia" in a fitness competition in Georgia while in the Air Force. He became an avid tennis player and played several times weekly at Country Meadows in Plant City right up until 91 years old. He was an active paticipant of activities at Country Meadows including karaoke and the Miss Countrywood contest. In Plant City, he was an active member of Hope Lutheran church where he served as an usher for many years.
Jack will be sorely missed by his 3 children, 6 stepchildren, 19 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren, his niece, Lynne King, of Houston, Texas and his significant other, Cindy Tinkham of Plant City.
There will be a Life Celebration for Jack Moberg at the Celeron American Legion on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, starting at 6:00 PM, family and friends are invited to attend.
