CHICHESTER – Bruce L. Lawson, 75, of Chichester, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Langdon Place in Dover.

He was born on December 6, 1947 in Jamestown, NY, son of the late Emmett B. and Augusta T. (Dracup) Lawson.

Bruce was educated in the Jamestown schools, Mercersburg Academy and graduated from Maple Grove High School in Bemus Point, NY. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree of Education from State University of NY at Oswego in 1970 and later served his country in the Army National Guard.

Bruce was a teacher for close to 20 years, teaching in Ravena, NY, Concord, NH as well as Faith Academy in the Philippines. After teaching, he was self-employed for several years as a contractor until his retirement.

He enjoyed playing basketball, football and all water sports, especially when he could share his love of water with others. He demonstrated how much he loved the Lord Jesus by how he loved his family. He was so passionate about sharing Jesus with everyone. He served the Lord in many ways. He was an elder in the church for 40 years and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Even though he is in Heaven rejoicing, he will be very much missed here on earth.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Ann Lawson and Sally Lawson.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Bjorkholm) Lawson of Chichester, with whom he shared 53 years, children, Erika Frick and her husband Tom and Amanda Lombardi and her husband Tony, grandchildren, Jakob, Kalina, Gwyneth Frick, Mackenzie, Annabelle, Callen Lombardi and nephew Shae Heberling.

There are no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at One Church, 1308 Wellington Road, Manchester, NH 03104 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either Camp Berea, 68 Berea Road, Hebron, NH 03241 or to Camp Maranatha, 140 Merrymeeting Road, New Durham, NH 03855.
