Allen R. Niles

Allen R. Niles, 71, of Alto, GA, passed away on June 8, 2023 from a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 27, 1952, in Jamestown, NY, to the late Edna and Douglas Niles.

Allen, also known as Al or Stubby, was a man of many talents and interests. He attended Falconer Central School. He made his living working at Vac Air Alloys/Keywell in Frewsburg, NY while married to his first wife, Susan. They raised three children together. He was a self-taught bowler and golfer. He enjoyed spending his free time on the golf course and coaching others on their golfing methods whether they wanted the free lessons or not. He loved watching golf tournaments and old karate movies, even while he slept; he was always listening with his eyes closed and snoring.

Later in life, he remarried. After retiring, he moved to GA as that was something he always wanted to do. He was a handyman who could fix just about anything. He had special bonds to those he met; the “105 crew” in Georgia was one of those. In addition, he had a unique job as a Hershey Kiss taste tester; bring him some chocolates and he’ll test them for you.

Surviving is his wife, Rebecca; three children from his first marriage, Michael (Anna) Niles, Patricia (Kevin) Warner, Christopher (Shawn) Niles; two stepdaughters, Melissa (John) Grover, and Karen Yoder. He was blessed with many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, David, Glenda, and Bobby.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sandy.

Those who knew Al will remember him for his sense of humor, generosity, and straightforwardness. He had a giving heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He will be forever missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Per his wishes, there will not be any services. Please, make a toast in his name and tell a funny story you have of him.
