Mary “Maggie” Magnuson Smith, 80, of Chester, VA died peacefully at home on May 3, 2023. Born in Jamestown, NY in 1942, as promised in scripture, she is now living in heaven with her Lord and Savior. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was surrounded by family. Surviving breast cancer in 2014, she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022 on their 58th anniversary. She fought the hard fight until her death in hospice care. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. A Memorial Service will be at Grace Lutheran Church, Chester, VA on Friday, May 19 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor sent to Grace Lutheran Church, 13028 Harrowgate Rd, Chester, VA, 23831.
