Mary Lou Fritz

Mary Lou Fritz, 69, of Lakewood, New York passed away on May 4, at Heritage Park Skilled Nursing Facility, after a 15-year valiant battle with ovarian cancer.

Born on November 30, 1953, Mary Lou was the daughter of Walt and Betty Balph Fletcher of Oil City, PA and she was of the Christian faith.

Mary was a 1971 graduate of OCHS, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She had been previously employed for many years at the Head Start Program in Oil City, as well as the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

In 2017, Mary moved from Palmyra, PA to Lakewood, NY to be closer to her daughter and the two loves of her life, her grandchildren Allison and Andrew. Mary enjoyed babysitting them and going to all of their sporting events and dance recitals.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Ochocki and her husband Pete of Lakewood, NY, and her son Matthew Fritz of Hunlock Creek, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Allison Sue Ochocki and Andrew Joseph Ochocki, who were the apple of their Nana’s eyes. They will miss her beyond measure.

Additionally, Mary Lou is survived by two brothers and one sister: Randy and Debbie Fletcher of Oil City, Tom Fletcher of Parma Heights, OH and Judy “Cookie” Riley of Seneca. She is also survived by her her sister-in-law, Linda Fletcher and her Aunt Judy Quattro of Oil City; and brother-in-law, Mushtaq Ahmed of Chagrin Falls, OH, in addition to many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Fletcher, her sister, Susan Fletcher Ahmed, her nephew Dustin A. Fletcher and her brother-in-law, John Riley, Jr., as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Per Mary Lou’s request, there will be no viewing or service.
