Mary “Alice” Russo

She was born on Jan. 18, 1942 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Harry A. and Beulah C. Bull Anderson.

Alice graduated from Jamestown High School in 1960 and was later employed by Lutheran Social Services in Jamestown where she retired in 1996.

In her free time, Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, going to local garage sales, shopping, reading, flowers, and gardening.

Surviving are three daughters: Renee (Steve) Tompsett of Falconer, Catherine (David) Rizzo of Jamestown, Toni (Dan) Gage of Jamestown; a son: Nicholas (Nancy) Russo of Jamestown; 12 grandchildren: Gregory (Lisa) Tompsett, Stephanie (Brett) Rhinehart, Michael (KerriAnn) Rizzo, Shaun Rizzo (Sara Erhard), Ashley (Justin) Freeborough, Nicholas Lind (Jenn Thiel), Jacob Gage, Sara Lind (Shane Haley), Daniel Gage (Desiree Reynolds), John Russo (Alyssa Kalfas), Alyssa Russo (Kyle Nocero), Jordan Russo; eight great-grandchildren and two brother-in-law’s: Matthew Russo and Frank Piazza both of Jamestown.

Besides her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband Anthony C. “Tote” Russo whom she married April 22, 1961, who passed away March 21, 2021; and a sister Evelyn Piazza who passed away Oct. 18, 2012.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Alice will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate. Inurnment will be Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
