Kent David Brocklehurst

The life of Kent David Brocklehurst, age 64, ended on March 6 while he was whitewater rafting, an activity that he loved, in Arizona.

He was born to Harry and Phyllis Brocklehurst in Jamestown, NY, who are deceased.

He is survived by his longtime partner Rahima Eaton of Snowflake Arizona; son Alex Templeton (Joni) of Greeneville, TN; sister Julie Brocklehurst- Woods (David) of Geneseo, NY; brother Dennis Brocklehurst of Line Lexington, PA; brother Gary Brocklehurst (Nancy) of Covington, LA; two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his sister Joan Sharp.

Kent was a free spirit and adventurer who traveled through India several times in a two year period, hiking into the Himalayas, learning the Hindi language, enjoying the people, culture and food. He also lived in Thailand for 6 months learning the language and culture and enjoying the people and spicy food. He was energetic and enjoyed working with his hands in gardening, carpentry, home repairs and improvements. He also enjoyed reading and cooking. Places he lived included Cattaraugus NY, Bemus Point NY, Maui, and Northern Arizona. His soul was gentle, kind, loving and strong.

Those who knew him have described him as loyal, steadfast, and true; open and sweet; quiet but confident; a kind, thoughtful, deep independent thinker; multi-talented, athletic, generous; hard-working, caring and reliable. Yet he was fun and liked to laugh and celebrate life.

He will greatly be missed.
