Joan Swiderski

Joan devoted her heart and soul to caring for her family and found her greatest joy in her (15) grandchildren and (21) great grandchildren.

Joan could often be found “sitting around like a ding ding” watching the birds, weeding her yard, picking up sticks and acorns, as well as spending Tuesday afternoons with the Gabby Gals.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Elbina Wozneak (Jamestown, NY); her beloved daughter, Romaine Rea; as well as Jerome Swiderski.

Joan is survived by six of her children: Paula Cassady (Erie, PA), Paul Swiderski and Valerie (Patterson, CA), Joel Swiderski & Sharrie (Spokane, WA), Steven Swiderski and Annette (Beavercreek, OH), Shane Swiderski (Urbana, IL), and Theresa Swiderski (Erie, PA); her siblings: Pat Johnson (Cincinnati, OH), Loretta Benedict (Carmel, IN), Steve Wozneak (Jamestown, NY), Marian Kelley (Buffalo, NY), and Linda Carduner (Hamburg, NY).

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass at St. George RC Church, 5145 Peach St., Erie, PA 16509 on Saturday, May 13 at 11 AM. Respects may be given to the family the hour preceding the Mass and all are welcome to attend a luncheon at The Colony Pub and Grille, 2670 W 8th St., Erie, PA 16505, immediately following the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Harborcreek, PA.
