Jean M. “Jeanie” Anderson

Jean M. “Jeanie” Anderson, 70, of Celoron, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at UPMC Chautauqua, Jamestown, N.Y. surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanie was born on October 15, 1952 in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Duane and Elizabeth S. “Betty” Davis Butts.

Jeanie graduated from Chautauqua Central School in 1970, while in school she played on the basketball and softball teams.

Jeanie was a member of the former Jamestown Moose Club 1681, Celoron Moose Lodge 2587, life-time member of War Veterans Recreation, American Legion and South Hills Country Club.

Jeanie was a waitress at La Scala Restaurant, Co-Owner of Chug-A-Lug, bar manager at Celoron Legion Post 777 and retired from Falconer Legion Post 638 as a Club Steward.

Jeanie played softball for the American Legion and she was their pitcher. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her husband David. She enjoyed being around her family. Jeanie had witty sense of humor, but she could be quick with a jab.

In addition to her parents, Jeanie is preceded in death by her husband, David B. Anderson who she married on June 6, 1970 and whom died on December 13, 2021; two sisters: Ruthie Barr and Phyllis Anderson and her brother-in-law: Tim Anderson.

Jeanie is survived by her two sons: Christopher B. (Denise) Anderson, of Jamestown, N.Y. and Bradley A. Anderson of Charlotte, N.C.; her grandson: Austin B. Anderson of Jamestown, N.Y.; two brothers: Richard (Debbie) Butts of Houston, TX and Robert (Beverly) Butts of Ashville, N.Y.; her sister: Janet (Lyle) Walker of Ashville, N.Y. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 11 AM- 1PM. A funeral service will be held at 1PM. Her brother Rev. Richard Butts will officiate. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery, Fluvanna, N.Y.
