Eddie Melendez

Eddie was loved and cherished by many people. It’s been told by many that they could see his greatness within. However, that greatness would be that he would give to others before giving to himself. He loved to be surrounded by people of all kinds and was very knowledgeable on so many levels. He gave his heart until the end and would say “that’s what makes me happy at the end of the day.” He always had a smile on his face even if he was not feeling good. He loved Hip-Hop, R&B, Dance, Singing, Breakdancing, Graffiti, and his little magic tricks he liked to do on all of us. Just the whole culture in general.

He is survived by his wife Melissa Melendez, his parents Justo Melendez Vega and Virginia McConaghay (Lawrence), his son Edward English, his grandson Kaymoni Kaiser English of Jamestown, his siblings Charlie Salgado (Susan) of Jamestown, Lissette Williams (Kenneth) of Orlando, FL., Maria Porter (Kenny) of Dunkirk NY, Andre R. Melendez (Annie) of Jamestown, NY, and William Hunter (Margaret) of Walpole, NH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his brother Jose Mantilla, his Stepmother Elizabeth Melendez and his grandparents.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Avenue Suite 3B, Jamestown NY 14701.

A private burial for immediate family will be held at Lake View Cemetery.
