Stanley B. Peterson, 85, formerly of Lakewood, passed away Friday (January 27, 2023) in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing

He was born on in Jamestown, the son of the late G. Sigvard and Aileen Lahl Peterson.

Stanley was a 1955 graduate of Jamestown high school and later graduated from Gannon University in Erie, PA.

Prior to retirement, Stan was a traffic manager and plant superintendent at Watson Manufacturing and Carter Metal. He was a co-owner of Classic Tree Farm with Walt Dahlgreen for many years until he was 80. He also owned and operated Classic Wreaths with his family for many years until he was 82.

Stan was an avid Beagler and was a member and president of Lake Erie Beagle Club for many years. There he enjoyed running his dogs under the kennel name Time Beagles and had many champions throughout the years. He was a member of the Coraopolis, PA Beagle Club and served as the International Beagle Federation (IBF) president twice, and was General Chairman of the National for over 20 years. He was inducted into the Beagling Hall of Fame in 1993.

Stan enjoyed being outside, working his tree and wreath businesses, fishing, going to auctions, and in earlier years gardening and farming. He enjoyed dancing, dinners with his wife, and going to the local baseball and hockey games. Stan loved his family, especially spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed going to their sporting events and taking them fishing. He was a very proud grandpa and they made him very happy.

Surviving are his son: Scott (Caroleen) Peterson; a daughter: Susan (Steve) Chipman; two grandchildren: Christian and Courtnee Peterson; a brother Steven (Linda) Peterson; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Suzanne Wilcox Peterson whom he married June 11, 1960, who passed away December 25, 2021; an infant daughter: Sheryl Ann Peterson; and a brother: Wayne Peterson.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday (February 1, 2023) at 1 p.m. in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Herdzick will officiate.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
