Ronald L. “Ron” Lyon

He was born on September 3, 1943 in Youngsville, Pa, a son of the late Harland E. and Alice L. Pattyson Lyon.

He attended Jamestown High School.

Ron was employed by PepsiCo Beverages Company as a sales supervisor for many years before retiring. In earlier years, he was employed by Chautauqua Hardware, Fountain Bowl, and Hopes Windows.

He was a former member of the Jamestown Area Bowling Association and had coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, and junior bowling. He loved his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. His hobbies included bowling and golfing.

Ron is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Neckers Lyon, who he married Sept. 17, 1983; six children: Ronald Lyon, Jr., Randall (Jeff) Lyon, Rhonda (Sandy) Sample, Renee (Randy) Kent, Brian (Melissa) Lyon, Meryl (Michael) Butler; eight grandchildren: Shawn (Leandra) Sample, Kara Sample, Heather (Seth) Boardman, Emily Kent, Ella Lyon, Amelia Butler, Rexford Butler, Sandy Lombardo, Jr.; brother Kenneth (Kerry) Lyon, brother-in- law Leonard Armstrong, Sr.; sister-in-law Paula Lyon; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Howard E. Lyon, Sr.; a sister Bonnie Armstrong; and a daughter-in-law Cindy Lyon.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Clyde Mohl, pastor of the Lakeside Bible Chapel, Bemus Point will officiate.

Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Friday and for one hour prior to the service, from 11 am to noon, on Saturday in the funeral home.
